Project Overview
Adams County and contract partner, Martin Marietta, will begin an important street maintenance project to pave six different areas of Adams County on Monday, July 28. The scope of work will include asphalt milling, tack and aggregate application, patching, overlay and striping. Please reference the overview map for specific paving locations. General Schedule
- The project will begin on Monday, July 28 and is expected to last for up to five months.
- Work is located in six different areas of Adams County (please refer to the overview map) as well as seven miscellaneous locations:
- Area 1
Covers about 15 streets from east of Federal Boulevard to Zuni Street and north of US Highway 36 to West 80th Avenue. - Area 2
Encompasses 12 streets from south of US 36 to 72nd Avenue, and east of Zuni Street to Samuel Drive. - Area 3
Covers up to 10 streets east of Washington Street, and north of E. 78th Avenue to Explorador Calle. - Area 4
Consists of 12 streets and extends east of Colorado Blvd. to Eldora, and from East 74th south to East 70th Street. - Area 5
Up to 6 streets which extend east from Brighton Road to I-76, and from Counter Drive south to East 104th Avenue. - Area 6
Extends east-west from Tower Road to Danube Street and north-south from East 121st Place to East 120th Avenue. - Miscellaneous areas
Include Riverdale Road, Tucson Street, E. 120th Avenue, 160th Avenue, Manilla Road, Old Victory Road and Wagner Street.
- Area 1
- Working hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday, except on holidays or no work days due to weather.
- Flagging operations, alternating lane closures, no parking zones and delays can be expected.
- Project flyers have been mailed to all impacted addresses.
- Each address will also receive a 72-hour advance notification (door hanger) of the start of work and no parking zones.
- During work, no parking zone signs will be posted and violators will be towed.
- All construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change.

Travel Impacts and Planned Work
Traffic Impacts & Planned Work - Week of Aug. 10 to Aug. 16 - Areas 1 & 2
During this weekly period, crews will finish patching and asphalt paving Area 1 and continue milling Area 2 which started ahead of schedule. Please reference the area maps below as well as the overview map for exact work locations.
• Working hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday.
• Door hanger notices will be placed at impacted addresses 72 hours prior to the start of work.
• No Parking signs will be placed one day prior to the start of work.
• Any vehicles left on the street during working hours will be towed.
• Flaggers will be present to manage traffic flows.
• Alternating lane closures can be expected.
• Access will be maintained, but narrowing and temporary closures may be in place within the work zone.
• Each address can expect up to three days of impacts over a few weeks during the three phases of work (milling, paving & striping)..
• Please observe signs and follow directions of flaggers and construction personnel.
• Trash pickup and other County services will not be impacted by this work.
• Construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change.
